Growing up in Syracuse, New York, Bill Loomis started woodworking with his dad in their basement shop. This laid the foundation for numerous construction jobs for Bill through high school and college, from roofing and re-models to large scale commercial projects.

After graduating from Metropolitan State University in Denver with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, Bill moved to Durango in 1993. He then met Troy in the early 2000’s where he began as a carpenter then foreman for Dyerbuilt Construction. He moved into the commercial sector of construction in 2007, working for Okland Construction as a Superintendent on large projects, eventually heading up their Alternative Energy department as a General Superintendent. Bill installed large scale utility solar projects around the Western United States for clients ranging from California Department of Corrections to the City of Phoenix. Seeing an opportunity to advance his career, Bill moved into Oil and Gas, building pipelines and facilities in and around central and West Texas, eventually becoming a consultant for a large oil company in eastern New Mexico.

Throughout his career, Bill maintained a close friendship with Troy and found himself coming full circle and a position with Veritas Fine Homes as a Project Coordinator. His respect for what Troy has created and seeing Troy’s passion for what he does makes Bill proud to be part of the Veritas team.

Bill, his wife Nettie and son Coleman are overjoyed to call Durango home, and if they are not busy trying to improve the menu at Hot Tomatoes, their family-owned café, you’ll find them on a trail, in a campground, on the water somewhere out in the desert enjoying life.
